The most convenient manner to navigate the Island are St. Thomas car rentals. Private cabs and public transportation do make the island accessible to those not wishing to use St. Thomas car rentals, though much of the freedom of the private stay is lost when calls need to be made to go anywhere. Sightseeing is something that can really only be done with a St. Thomas car rental as cabs are not usually amenable to waiting for hours.

A valid driver’s license is necessary for St. Thomas car rentals. Like companies in the States, St Thomas car rental companies will only rent to those 25 or older (unless an additional fee is paid per day, over the age of 21). All clients must be over 21 years of age but less than 75 years old and must have held a valid driver’s license for at least two years. Children’s car seats are available for rental upon request and are mandatory.
